Mike Plazony is a Partner with MVP, leading the New Business Sales & Underwriting Practice. As an experienced senior insurance executive, Mike brings a disruptive mindset to the traditional life insurance industry by transforming legacy sales and underwriting process, rules, and guidelines. The end result is a more friction-free sales experience that drives organic growth with the delivery of suitable products at the right time and price.


Mike joined MVP from iPipeline where he helped insurers evolve their legacy underwriting into more customer-focused solutions that enable point of sale accelerated decisions. While serving iPipeline’s clients, Mike was able to gain valuable experience into how to better leverage vendor capabilities that complement his prior proprietary solution buy side experience. Before iPipeline Mike was President of Kemper Life, where he transformed a 2,600-person agency force by deploying iPads with integrated quote, e-application, and point of sale underwriting capability that increased new life sales and generated the first organic growth in over 20 years. As COO of the Erie Insurance Life Company, Mike leveraged best practice technology with process, underwriting and product changes that drove 20% annualized 4-year growth in life NB premium.

Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Indiana University, and is a Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI).
